Gamescom 2020 Moves To Online After New Restriction In Germany

This year most of the events and conferences either got canceled or moved to the online-only events. But the gamers hoped that atleast that World’s biggest video game convention, Gamescom will take place. As it is scheduled for August this year many people thought that by then COVID-19 will be neutralized. But Germany, where it was supposed to take place, has put a new restriction on large gatherings in the country until August this year.  

That is why the organizer of the Gamescom has decided to move the Gamescom online. The official Twitter account of Gamescom confirms the news by saying that Gamescom 2020 will “definitely” be taking place in the digital realm. 

At this time we don’t have much information regarding this. However, organizers promise that further information will come “shortly”. Staff members have almost four months to think about the action plan on how to organize the event online. It’s true that this heartbreaking for many gamers who were planning to go to this years’ Gamescom but to stay healthy and flatten the curve of COVID-19, is a necessary step that should be taken.
