LG Velvet Will Be Unveiled on May 7, LG Confirms

LG’s Velvet is in the news for quite some time. We have seen many leaks and teasers. Now LG has given us an official date for the unveiling of the LG Velvet. It will launch on May 7. The launch event will be an online-only event because of the COVID-19 pandemic it is very important to keep social distancing to stop the spread of the virus.

LG is calling this event “a fashion show that boasts innovative designs.” The announcement was made official via a short teaser video on LG Korea’s YouTube channel and the official website. In 15 sec clip posted by the LG, we can see a ramp and the spotlights. The raindrops should be signifying the raindrop camera design. From the previously teased video, we know that there will be four color options-  Aurora Green, Aurora Gray, Aurora White, and Illusion Sunset.

Besides the color of the device, we also know that the LG velvet will be powered by the Snapdragon 765G. That also means it will be a 5G device. There will be a dewdrop or teardrop type notch instead of punch-hole cut out to hold the front camera. The 3.5mm headphone jack is alive in this LG Velvet. We will be able to know more information on May 7 at 10 am KST or 6.30 am IST.
