Earlier this month Xiaomi has launched Mi CC9e in China. It is a midrange device but with some impressive spec under the hood like AMOLED screen, in-display fingerprint sensor. Now new rumours suggesting that the Mi CC9e can be launched as MI A3 in the global market.
A new FCC filing has been spotted of a new Xiaomi device as model no M1906F9SH. The FCC label image also shows a device with a rear similar to the Mi CC9e, however, there is an Android One logo emblazoned on the bottom right as well. Additionally, the handset has also appeared on IMDA Singapore with the same model number.
This model number is exactly the same as the model number of the Mi CC9e (M1906F9SH) except for the last letter which is C in the Mi CC9e. Furthermore, a user in Weibo posted pictures of Mi CC9e and one of them has the code name “laurel_sprout”. So far all Android device code name has a “_sporout” suffix. And also the code name for the Mi CC9e in China is “laurel”. But all this can be meaning nothing as Xiaomi has use different code name for their Android one device.
Mi CC9e is powered by the Snapdragon 665 SoC which a little upgrade over Mi A2. And it also has only an HD+ screen, so it could end up being Mi A3 Lite. So then the regular Xiaomi Mi CC9 may be sold as the regular Mi A3. As of now, we don’t any evidence to prove our theory. Also, be noted that Ting’s comprehensive IMEI database identifies the device with model name M1906F9SC and IMEI 864087040013098 as the Xiaomi Mi A3.
The Mi CC9e has a tear-drop notch design bearing a 6.01-inch HD+ display topped with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It has a 48MP Sony sensor, an 8MP wide-angle lens, and a 2MP depth sensor while the front is a 32MP shooter.
Last year Xiaomi released Mi A2 in July. And this year we also can see the release of Mi A3 in July. So the release date is not very far away. I guess we have to wait for a for some day for official confirmation.
