A few days ago we reported about the Ryzen 3 3300X and Ryzen 3 3100. At that time those chips were not officially announced but they are now official and along with all the official specifications you need to know. AMD has also announced the B550 chipset based motherboard.

AMD Ryzen 3 3300X CPU Specifications

AMD Ryzen 3 3300X is based on 7nm Zen 2 architecture featuring 4 cores and 8 threads. It has a base clock of 3.8 GHz and boosts up to 4.3 GHz. Ryzen 3 3300X has an 18MB cache. It has support for the latest PCIe 4.0.  It has a TDP of 65W, so a modest cooling system will be enough to keep the temperature in check. Ryzen 3 3300X has a price tag of $120 and will be available from May 21st, 2020.

AMD Ryzen 3 3100 CPU Specifications

Ryzen 3 3100 is like the underclocked version of Ryzen 3 3300X. It also features 4 cores and 8 treads based on Zen 2 architecture. It has also had the same TDP and cache size of 18MB and 65W TDP. The only difference is the base and boost clock. Ryzen 3 3100 has a base clock of 3.6 GHz and a boost clock of 3.9 GHz. The lower clock speed is justified by the $99 price of tag of Ryzen 3 3100. It will also be available from May 21st.

B550 Boards

AMD finally releasing the B550 motherboard. If you are looking for a budget AMD builds but you still want to latest technologies including support for PCIe 4.0 then the B550 motherboard is a perfect choice for you. B550 chipset based motherboards will become available beginning on June 16th, 2020 from partners including ASRock, ASUS, Biostar, Colorful, GIGABYTE, and MSI at leading retailers and etailers. The price of the board will be announced soon.

With the launch of these two CPUs, AMD fills the gap of not having a Ryzen 3000 series CPU in a $100-$120 price range. But these two options also crowded the AMD offering in this price range. In this price range, AMD will be competing with itself instead of Intel. The 12nm+ version of the Ryzen 5 1600 which is 1600AF is also available in this price range with more cores. If you are a customer then you have to decide whether you want more cores or less core with better IPC and PCIe 4.0.
